Appealing against a UKVI decision

If your visa, LTR application or asylum application is refused, and you decide to appeal against the decision, if you are able, engage a legal advisor who has an established good reputation* in immigration law.  You can also undertake the appeal itself if you or your Representative** are confident to do so.

ALWAYS be prepared that once you make an appeal, you are then in the Immigration Tribunal system.

The Tribunal has an externally/independently verified reputation for being (put politely/diplomatically) ‘somewhat less than independent of the Home Office (with senior law professionals amongst others noting its unusual record and characteristics during the Hostile Environment era)’ less than professional and/or safe to use, and more predisposed to make decisions which are adverse to genuine visa/asylum/LTR applicants that the Home Office’ UKVI has refused. The Tribunal section of this website provides particularly important need to know information for anyone that may be compelled to use the Tribunal if their application is refused.

* Always NEVER trust to what an immigration specialising solicitor / law firm say about themselves on their website, except for when on the latter they include credible external hyperlink INDEPENDENT evidence of their actual record in regard to reputation.  The latter is the all-important matter for you and it is essential that you carefully ‘Google search’ the given business, and ideally putting out requests for more information on the latter within your particular [ethnic community, LGBT, etc.] community.  Some of the law firms out there covering this field are simply predatory, and at the same time Home Office certified.

** This could be a partner [married/civil partner]/senior family member who may or may not be a, by birth, or naturalised British Citizen
